Philly molded his engineering skills at Drexell University, which not only came in handy in his program manager position at Bunker Ramo, but also for teaching him how to fix things. He was known to his kids as “Mr. Fix it” and was an incredible problem solver and engineer.
Joe started his career with the Martin-Marietta Co. and was involved with the development of advanced radar systems for military usage. As program manager he was stationed at various spots in the Western U.S. and even tested prototypes in Israel. He eventually retired from Bunker Ramo Corporation in 1990.
His favorite past times were model trains and the Lakers. He would love to attend toy train conventions and had quite a collection of old trains and toys. And if it wasn’t that he was yelling at the Lakers on tv, trying to will them on to another championship.
He will be missed by his wife, Pauline, three children and six grandchildren. And he will be remembered as a man who had old school values with a good heart and always held his love of family high.
