Joyce was born in Chicago, Illinois, where she spent her early years with her family. She later met the love of her life, Patrick Ryan, whom she married on June 9, 1956. Together they built a loving family and shared 48 years of marriage before Patrick's passing.
Joyce's greatest joy was her family. She and Patrick raised five daughters and were blessed with 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She loved traveling with her husband, playing bridge with dear friends, and visiting her children and grandchildren across the country.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Ryan; her daughters, Cathy Warner and Gail Ryan; her parents, Joseph and Helen Rafferty; her sister, Marilyn Basse; and her brother, Bob Rafferty.
She is survived by her daughters, Lori Strickland, Colleen Ryan, and Nancy Ryan; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and all who knew and loved her.
A private Celebration of Life will be held on November 13, 2026, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church.
