Saturday, June 22, 2019 daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, and aunt Julia (Julie, Judy) passed away unexpectedly in Palmdale, California. Julia was born November 27, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, father Peter Beutel and mother Mary V. (nee Conroy) Beutel she was the youngest of three daughters.
Julia was a dynamic project manager in her career who rose to top management in the technology field while also raising her two sons Michael and David, a daughter Wendee and her nephew John Snyder. Her technology career started in Chicago building on her accounting and data processing skills. In 1973 she was offered a job as a trainer and manager for a data processing company in Los Angeles, California. Resettling in Calabasas with her three children they were later joined by her mother Mary Beutel who facilitated and nourished the family. After the sudden death of her sister Donna (nee Conroy) Snyder and her brother-in-law John Snyder the previous year, her young nephew John joined the Graca family. But tragedy for the family struck again when her older sister Beverly Hammer and her neice Tracy Hammer, DVM. were killed in the TWA 800 airplane crash off Long Island, New York.
After settling in Calabasa and purchasing her home Julia's spiritual life deepened and she became a reborn Christian. In 1982 Julia married her husband and friend Rigel Megareus and they have shared an immense love over the last 37 years.
Well respected in her 40-year career she leaves colleagues in California and internationally. Her resume began in 1971 at ITEL Corporation who relocated her from Chicago to Los Angeles as Customer Service Manager. Followed by beta testing and implement at Shop Floor Control, Factory Data Collection. At Xerox Computer Systems she was a manufacturing specialist and industry marketing analyst. In 1990 Julia joined Photo-Sonics, Inc. as IT Manager later to work in projects in Thame UK. In 1999 she took the position of Director of Application Software at OSI Systems, Hawthorne, California where she also did ERP implementation in Malaysia automating accounting, order taking, inventory and shipping systems to computerized systems. In 2004 Julia joined the growing company Western Computing, Oxnard, California Implementing ERP Software Solutions. During the last several years Julia invested in real estate and property management.
Family, friends and colleagues were always aware of Julia's remarkable ability to grow professionally and personally. She graduated from Lourdes High School, class of 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. After moving to California, she continued her education at the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, class of 1980. Based on her experience and enthusiasm for international business she pursed and completed the specialties of APICS certification CPIM.
Julia is survived by her grieving husband Rigel Megareus, her sons Michael Graca, David Graca (Yanna Rodriguez-Graca) and her daughter Wendee (nee Graca) Busch. Grandchildren Elizabeth, Alexander, Angelina Contreras-Duran, and Micheal D. Graca. Cousins Phyllis Oblander, Cathleen McGrath, Maureen McGrath-Simmons (David), Betty (nee Conroy) McLaughlin (Jim), Mary Conroy, Patty Conroy, Kathleen Conroy, John Conroy, Thomas Conroy and William Conroy.
Preceded in death by her parents Peter and Mary V. (nee Conroy) Beutel. Sisters Beverly (nee Beutel) Hammer, Dona (nee Beutel) Snyder; brothers-in-law John Snyder and Richard Hammer. Her beloved nephew/step son Jonathan Synder and his mother Erica Snyder (John). Cousin Dale Beutel.
