I had the previous of working with Julian and Penny promoting the arts in the Westlake/Thousand Oaks area. A caring and loving couple, he will be missed. Rhonda

A fellow "Scot" and both Julian and Penny were special people to me.  Our lives crossed in Westlake with the City and with Art.. always a gentleman and when we happened to meet along the way we picked up our conversations where we left off.  He loved and admired his wife and spoke of her often.  Julian will be missed by many people who had the honor of his acquaintance.  A salute from all veterans.

Julian Macdonald was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, friend, and brother. He was extremely committed to an effective state and national government. He had an illustrious career in the media, was a lover of mountains, seas, lakes, and all of nature. He had many friends, and above all he was a proud and decent man who worked to improve all levels of government.

All members of the Macdonald and Wendt family in Geneva, Switzerland, and Oslo, Norway, and Challex, France send our condolences to Penny, Curtis, and Dalton on Julian’s untimely passing. We extend our deepest commiseration and hope that William Julian will rest in peace.

Julian was a great mentor to me.  He was always supportive and kind and he taught me a great deal about how to be a strong board member. He taught me how to listen.  He taught me to speak up for myself.  My deepest sympathy to Penny and the family.  He was one of the good guys.
