

Kathryn Allen passed away peacefully in Ventura, CA, on Thursday, May 11th 2023 at the age of 92. Kathryn was born on September 11th 1930 in Toledo, OR, the second of five children to William Olaf and Edith Elnora Christensen.
Kathryn was a wonderful, loving wife and committed mother. She taught her children to be successful in their endeavors and to live a life full of good character. She instilled in her children strong family values and cultivated respect and love for Jesus Christ, our Lord. Kathryn loved life and experienced it to the fullest.
Kathryn was the family’s matriarch, guiding and ever watchful over her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. To her five great-grandchildren, she was known as “Grandma Great.” She loved playing the piano, painting, sewing, golfing, and creating art. She was the foundation from which the family learned assertiveness, honesty, and the value of hard work. An amazing and talented cook, she made every family gathering a special time to dine with tasty delight. Ever supportive, she consistently gave all her effort, time, and affection to the family she loved and adored. Early in her professional life Kathryn worked for the FBI, directly supporting the team that prosecuted the Soviet spy Whitaker Chambers and Alger Hiss.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald, who cherished her. Their 61-year marriage was an example to behold! Kathryn loved to spend time with Don, especially when giving of their time to service organizations such as the Military Order of the World Wars, the Grey Eagles, and Aviation Country Club. Kathryn was additionally preceded in death by her sister JoAnn and brother Robert. She is survived by her brother Skip, sister Ruth (Christa), three sons, William, wife Sandra, Robert, wife Janet, Bryan, wife Elizabeth, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 PM on Fri, July 28th at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd, Westlake Village, CA. A celebration of life will be held following the ceremony at a location to be determined.
