Linda Frances Carroll Carlson

July 7, 1945August 22, 2011

On August 22, 2011 Linda Frances Carlson passed away in Los Angeles, CA after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Linda Frances Carroll on July 7, 1945 in Racine, Wisconsin, she graduated from East Rockford High School, and completed her education at the University of Illinois. After college, Linda spent many years in both Wisconsin and the Chicago area before moving to Southern California in the 1980’s.

Linda enjoyed golf, country music, cooking and entertaining, biking, soccer, charity work and, most of all, spending quality time with her family and friends. During Linda’s accomplished career in sales in the communication industry, she held a variety of executive positions at leading companies such as Nixdorf, Micom and ACT Networks. She was a remarkable woman who loved all that life had to offer. Linda’s charisma, sweet smile, laugh and kind spirit brightened the lives of those that knew her.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Robert Carroll and her husband, John Tucker. Linda is survived by her sons, Richard Carlson (Jennifer) and David Carlson (Susan), daughters Brook Klein (Scott) and Cami Wolff, mother Lisbeth Carroll, sister Laura Carroll, and seven wonderful grandchildren; Samuel, Henry, Gwyneth and Julia Carlson, Dylan (Ivee) and Marina Wolff and Gabriel Klein.

A special thanks to Dr. Ashouri and his staff at UCLA Cancer Center of Westlake Village and the superb staff at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. A heartfelt “thank you” to Linda’s extraordinary friends Kim Paul and Sherri Willard, and the amazing Spanish Hills Ladies Club for all their exceptional support as well.

Rick, David and family,
I just wanted to share with you that thinking of Linda always makes me smile. She brought fun, laughter, and good food to every activity and into the lives of everyone who knew her. And what a crazy-wonderful group of friends she had! Her love and generosity poured past her direct friends and included our children and our parents. Linda included my 80+ yr old mother in a dinner invitation and it made my mom's day. These are the things I will remember about Linda. I will miss her greatly, but my life is better for having known her.

The twinkle in Linda's eye, her warmth and generosity touched me and many others. She was so bright and accomplished. What a treasure to have known Linda as a colleague and friend. My sorrow and comfort to Linda's family and friends.

I had the great good fortune of working with Linda several years ago. Her upbeat sweet attitude and business acumen made it a real pleasure to work with her. I've worked with a lot of people around the globe but rarely came across one that was as nice to work with as Linda. I'm sure she will be deeply missed by her friends and family. I'd like to express my deepest sympathy to all of them.

Linda was a wonderful colleague, truly a joy to be around. I love this picture of her with my newborn son. He is now a senior in high school, but I have never forgotten Linda's kindness during my pregnancy. Rick, David and family, you were so blessed to be loved by Linda.

David and Rick, I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. She was a great lady and an even better friend. I will miss her terribly. When my daughter Chanel died, Linda was the first person I called. She was always there for me and changed my life for the better.
