Louis Vincent Fiore, 78, passed peacefully on November 19, 2025, with his wife and daughter by his side. Lou was born in Kingman, Arizona, the son of Josephine McCoy. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1965, then went on to Cal State Northridge University.
Lou played in the minor leagues at the AAA level for the Saint Louis Cardinals under coach Sparky Anderson. He was later drafted by the US Army to serve in Vietnam but decided to voluntarily enlist in the Marine Corps in 1968. Lou was recognized as Series Honorman in the Recruit Training Regiment and was awarded a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for distinguished meritorious actions above the call of duty while on tour in Vietnam. Though he returned home decorated for bravery, his greatest gift from this time was finding his faith in God that carried him the rest of his life.
Originally meeting at a dance before his enlistment, Lou was finally honored to marry the love of his life, Mary Ann Olson, on September 13, 1969, in Glendale, CA with her brother, John Olson, officiating. They were married for 56 years and raised their three children in Newbury Park, forging a beautiful life together. Lou worked as a General Contractor and built his own business, Dream Tree Construction. Some notable projects included constructing a gorgeous custom home in Lake Sherwood, large scale tract buildouts, numerous home remodels for members of his church, and an epic two-story playhouse with a trap door for his kids’ sleepovers. Lou’s faith was important to him and he was involved in New Hope Lutheran Church, serving on Council, leading the Alpha Program, and being a Stephen Minister. As a natural competitor, he was a strong and passionate coach for all his children’s sports teams. He loved playing pool, ping pong, handball, tennis, softball, golf, sailing his Hobie cat, dancing to Elvis, and being with family. Favorite memories of Lou include him laughing at his own jokes until he cried, spending meaningful time with family and friends, and annual vacations to Balboa Island.
Lou was an amazing son, husband, dad, Grandpa TuTu, and friend. He will be remembered for ‘loving us well’ and living life to the fullest. He was deeply cherished by all and had a way of bringing warmth and attention into any room, guided by natural, genuine charm. His soul poured into the love he had for his family and friends. After a long battle with Alzheimer’s (while selflessly participating in a clinical drug study to help find a cure), he is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; children Jason, Chris and Aimee; daughters-in-love Jamie and Caitlin; son-in-love Joe, as well as grandchildren, Ella, Ian, Addy, Luke, Jack and Avery.
Services will be held in late January at New Hope Lutheran Church, Agoura. Donations in Lou’s memory may be directed to Veterans Against Alzheimer’s.
