Mahmoud Navab, 91, passed away on September 17, 2026. Born July 10, 1935, in Tehran, Iran, Mahmoud was the son of Ahmad and Mehrozaman Navab. He later made his home in Los Angeles, California, carrying with him a deep connection to his roots and the people who shaped his earliest years.
From the beginning, Mahmoud’s life was grounded in family. He grew up alongside two siblings, Zaman and Homa, and throughout his life he held close the memories of family members and the simple joys of childhood plays—moments he returned to often with quiet reflection and gratitude.
Mahmoud pursued higher education with diligence and purpose, earning double master’s degrees in business and agriculture. That dedication to learning and practical stewardship found its natural expression in his professional life, where he served as director of agriculture, approaching his work with steady responsibility and care.
On August 15, 1968, Mahmoud married Parvaneh. Together they built a family and welcomed two children, Armin and Abtin, who remained at the heart of his life.
In his personal time, Mahmoud found comfort in simple, meaningful routines—going to the park, working through puzzles, and listening to the music he loved. Among his favorites was Hayedeh’s “Eyzendegi Salam,” a song that held a special place for him and echoed the reflective spirit with which he approached life and memory.
A viewing will be held at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, CA 91362, on September 28, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at the same location on September 28, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Burial will take place at External Service Location, 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd, Westlake Village, CA 91362, on September 28, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
Mahmoud will be remembered with respect for the life he built, the family he cherished, and the enduring memories he carried with him—offered quietly, faithfully, and with lasting love.
