Margaret Lucille Buckley passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on April 20, 2026 at the age of 97. She was born on September 3, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Agoura Hills with her husband and family in 1968, where she resided until her passing.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Patrick Joseph Buckley; her granddaughter, Lauren Schweissinger; her brother, Eddy Roddy; her son-in-law, Jeff Schweissinger; her sister, Josephine Park, and her brother in law, Kendall Park.
She is survived by her five children, Donna Buckley Schweissinger, Mike Buckley, Dan Buckley, Jim Buckley, Theresa Buckely Hamel, and son-in-law Ray Hamel, her sisters Eileen O’Connor and Teresa Brennan, her eight grandchildren, Alyssa Hamel Katz (Robert) , Chris Buckley (Caitlin), Ashley Hamel Berglund (Steven), Leanna Buckley (Adrian Goodchild), Alexa Hamel Bracken (Shane), Taryn Schweissinger, Taylor Schweissinger, and Alisha Hamel, and six great-grandchildren, Molly and Reagan Katz, Jameson and Maverick Berglund, Decker Buckley, and Liam Bracken. Margaret was also thrilled to welcome three more great-grandchildren into her family, expected in September.
Margaret’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially becoming a grandmother and later a great-grandmother. She was always there whenever she was needed, lovingly caring for her grandchildren and filling their lives with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Becoming a great-grandmother brought her even more happiness—her face would light up with the biggest smile whenever she held those precious babies.
Before dedicating herself fully to her family, Margaret worked for many years at Whizins Market and later at Vons, where she was affectionately known as “Margie Baby.” She truly loved her work and the people she met along the way. Margaret happily retired when her grandchildren arrived, devoting her time to helping raise and care for them—a role she cherished above all else.
Margaret will always be remembered for her beautiful, welcoming smile and her sweet giggle that made everyone feel at home. She had a gift for making people feel loved and valued, and her kindness touched all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by her entire family, who loved her beyond words and will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
Rest in peace, Mom.
