

Mariano I. Somarriba of Camarillo, California passed away on Wednesday, May 31st, 2023, at the age of 84 years old. He was born on June 2nd, 1938, in the country of El Salvador where he grew up with his brothers and sisters.
He graduated from Ministry of Education El Salvador in 1967. Later, receiving training from Bulova watch company. An opportunity that allowed him to migrate to the United States in 1970. He worked as a watch repairer in Los Angeles. In 1986, he pursued another career as a Quality Control Inspector. Performing thorough inspections and tests on high performance car parts. In the last twenty years of his life, he enjoyed his retirement traveling to Europe, Mexico, and Hawaii with his wife, Laura.
He was an avid soccer enthusiast and true connoisseur of sweets. Whether it was the thrill of a last- minute goal or the tactical brilliance of a well- executed play, Mariano found joy in the world of soccer. But it wasn’t just the beautiful game that brought happiness to his life. His sweet tooth was legendary, and he could always be found indulging in an array of delectable treats.
He is preceded in death by his parents Julio Cesar Somarriba and Josepha Solis Somarriba, and his brothers and sisters: Carlos, Julio, Guillermo, Ernesto, Tita, Lety, Fernando, Arturo, Rafeal and Nathaniel.
He is survived by his wife, Laura and his children: Mario, John, Lorena and his son in law, Robert. Grandchildren; Corey, Zoe and Laura Alyssa and Greatgrandchildren; Carson and Levi.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at Community Memorial Hospital, and Coastal Care Health Care for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a mass at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church on Friday, June 16th, 2023 at 10 am. 5801 Kanan Road. Westlake Village. An interment to follow at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks- Griffen Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road Westlake Village.
