

She was born in Evanston, Illinois and moved to Los Angeles, California when she was two. She married my grandfather Donald Locke on November 1,1952. They were married 63 years. She taught pre-k through 3rd grade for 33 years, with the Los Angeles Unified School District, she loved to teach. A long time resident of Ventura County, she lived in Simi Valley for 27 years, where she was an active member of the community. She was involved in many activities, including water aerobics at the YMCA where she made many, many friends. She visited and participated in many events through her local Senior center as well. She was extremely outgoing and loved to socialize. She also shopped at her local Trader Joe's multiple times a week where she quickly became a "local celebrity". She was loved by everyone. She was very devoted to her family and had tremendous love for all of us. She will forever be in our hearts and thoughts.
She is survived by her husband Don, children Karen, and Darlene, and son in law Jeff. Her four grandchildren Josh, Shelley, Aimee, Emma, and great granddaughter Annette. She is also survived by her brother Don Coleman and sister in law Fran. Her nieces and nephews Gary, Sue, Doug, Tina, and Kathy. Her great nieces and nephews Kyle, Max, Cameron, Cara, Rachael, Joey, and Kenny.
