Beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Preceded in death by his parents Domingo and Arsenia Pinlac and brother, Eddie Pinlac. Oscar is survived by siblings and their spouses, Lorna (Eddie d.), Jessie Pinlac, Aida Abraham (Gil d.), Fe and Edgar Palo, Rey and Agnes Pinlac, Dollie and Mark Lieberman, R. Dennis Pinlac, Ryan Pinlac, Arlene Pinlac and many nieces and nephews. Oscar was a very loving, caring and generous man. He was loved by all who knew him.
Oscar was born and raised in the Philippines. Education there included receiving a certification of medical technologist by the board of medical technology. Then, a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Santo Tomas as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, followed by a Master’s Degree.
When in the United States he had a successful and long career as a lead medical laboratory scientist, in the virology department for Southern California Permanente. While at Kaiser/Permanente, Oscar received awards for his work. He was an exceptional employee and was awarded for that attribute by receiving the “Award For Excellence” in virology.
He was also asked to attend a meeting at the White House to represent his department at Kaiser/Permanente.
Oscar had many talents including the proverbial “Green Thumb”. His gardens were beautiful. He was a creative horticulturalist. He was an excellent chef and also enjoyed times with his brother-in-law, Edgar, making music together. Oscar singing to Edgar’s playing the guitar.
The family would like to give Viva Hospice Care, in Camarillo, a special thank you for the exceptional care and compassion shown to our Oscar in his final days.
Oscar, you are missed by all. We love you dearly. Until we are together again, so long for now.
