Patricia was born on September 1, 1934 in Los Angeles, CA to Edgar and Nellie Brooker. After high school graduation from Dorsey high, she received her teaching credentials from University of Redlands and University of Southern California. Patricia went on to teach for 30 plus years. She loved teaching and after retirement she taught teachers through U.N.L.V. Patricia’s other pride and joy was her son Owen Thomas. She shared many fun memories with Owen with him while traveling and visiting Wrightwood.
She always had a passion for traveling and culture. She was fluent French and loved connecting with all people. Her phone was her window to the world. She was an avid collector of music and collectibles. Patricia always had dogs as part of her family.
Patricia retired from teaching and lived in Boulder City, Nevada with her husband Ray Gaboury. She loved living in Nevada and enjoyed spending time at the casinos and eating like a queen. She moved to be closer to Thousand Oaks, 8 years ago to be closer to family.
She was known for her infectious energy, and her great storytelling abilities.
Patricia was preceded in death by husband Ray Gaboury and son Owen Thomas. She is survived by granddaughter Taylor Thomas and daughter in law, Karen Thomas.
