

CAPT (USNR Ret.) Paul Gerard Giberson of Westlake Village passed away on October 9, 2023, at the age of 84. He was born on March 15, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois where he grew up. Paul was the youngest son of Paul and Blanche Giberson.
Paul graduated from Morgan Park Highschool in 1957 and obtained his BA degree from Whitworth College, Spokane, Washington, in January 1962. After graduating from college, Paul entered Naval Aviation Candidate School in May 1962 and was designated a Naval Aviator in November 1963.
During his active-duty Naval career, he completed three combat deployments to Vietnam while deployed on the USS Ticonderoga (CV-14), earning many awards and decorations including the third highest military decoration - The Silver Star Medal.
Following his military service, Paul started his career as a pilot with TWA until retirement in 2000.
Paul was actively involved in both the Naval and Sheriff Reserve, coaching football, and his favorite pastime riding his bike. In his neighborhood Paul is known as the “dog whisperer” of Cromwell Place.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Alice and Alma. He is survived by his wife Madeleine of 57 years, son Paul, daughter -in-law Angela, daughter Tracy and granddaughters Raegan, Riley, and Reese.
The Giberson family would like to thank his close friends for the care and compassion they showed Paul is his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service at Westlake Methodist Church on Friday, October 27th, 2023 at 10 am.
