Born on March 18 in Saint-Trivier-sur-Moignans, France, René lived a life deeply rooted in music, travel, and family. As President of Harmonia Mundi USA, he worked side by side with Robina to distribute and produce many Grammy Award–winning classical recordings. René also founded World Village, bringing artists and recordings from around the globe to audiences in the United States and helping broaden appreciation for world music.
Known for his quick wit and dry humor, René was also a deeply generous and kind man, cherished by friends and family alike. He had a special gift for forming unique and meaningful relationships with each of his three grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by Timothy, Jonathan, and Valentine.
Affectionately nicknamed “Goiff” by his family, René leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cultural contribution that will not be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cancer Research . The site was created by Valentine, proceeds go directly to the foundation supporting research into Melanoma.
René will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him"
