Richard Anderson was born on September 25, 1924, in Bismarck, North Dakota to John and Annie Anderson. He graduated from Kulm High School in 1942. After graduation, Richard (Dick) moved to Seattle, Washington. He worked for Boeing before being drafted into the US Army Air Force in 1943. He served from 1943 – 1946. Richard went back to Seattle, Washington where he met and married Darlene Bennett on July 30, 1947.
At the start of their family and his career, they lived in Kansas City, New Orleans and Seattle. They eventually moved to California in 1954 living in Stockton, Woodland Hills and settling in Thousand Oaks in 1970. He resided in Thousand Oaks with his wife Darlene from 1970 until her death on June 11, 2003; and his second wife Helen from 2004 until her death on June 10, 2015.
Richard began his career as an engineer at WDSU T.V. in New Orleans and ended it as Vice President/Director of Engineering for Metromedia/Fox Television. Richard loved to golf, serve at Christian Church of Thousand Oaks and take family trips.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Bennett Anderson; and his second wife, Helen Gateka Anderson; and his parents and four siblings. He is survived by his three daughters: Sherry, Sandra, Debra and sons-in-law, a stepson, Steve and stepdaughter, Renee; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
