Richard grew up in Kansas and spent his early years playing sports and being the ringleader to his younger siblings. The family moved to California in 1961. He went to Chatsworth high school and Cal State Northridge University and San Fernando Valley State and studied finance. He got a job at Sunkist, where he rose to CFO and Vice President. He married Cheryl and had three children. He later had a lemon grove and enjoyed traveling on cruises. After his first wife passed in 2017, he retired to Oregon and married Alexandria. Life became golfing, building a hobby farmhouse and having horses. He returned to California to be near his children and family after a diagnosis of liver failure due to a genetic problem. He was a kind and loving husband and father. He will be sorely missed.
