

Born in New York and raised in Morris Plains, New Jersey, Richard served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he earned a degree in Mathematics from Hofstra University in 1971.
Mr. Hollenberg began his professional career with MetLife after graduation and remained with the company until his retirement as Project Manager in 2005. In 1974, he married his wife, Kate, in New York, and together they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 2024. In 1977, they moved to Clarks Summit, where Mr. Hollenberg became an active member of the community. He held several leadership positions at Covenant Presbyterian Church, including serving as elder and treasurer.
Richard was an avid cyclist and took great joy in outdoor activities. He was a proud member of both the Scranton Ski Club and the Porsche Club of America, Pocono Region. In early 2024, Mr. and Mrs. Hollenberg moved to California to be closer to family.
He was known for his great kindness and consideration toward all living creatures, serving as an inspiration to everyone who knew him.
Mr. Hollenberg is survived by his wife, Kate; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Pooja, of Los Angeles; and two grandchildren.
