I recently found out about Robert's passing,  and am saddened that we didn't stay in touch after his retirement.  We spent many many long hours together,  working for Edison, playing on company softball teams,  etc. etc..  He was a bit quirky at times,  but that's what I liked about him ! My condolences to his family and friends,  especially to Anthony and Veronica.

So Robert this is the time to say goodbye,

  When I was a kid and you left to join the Marine Corp. I knew that you were leaving, but that you would be coming home to Gardena one day.  When you would visit on leave it was a Hi Bye see you next time.

  But now so soon for me being the youngest you are gone without a see you soon.  Because who knows when soon will be...

  We were not that close, but I knew you were always there like a favorite blanket.  We didn’t talk much about important matters, but we laughed the most in our family (besides my father) and we spent few times together, until it was important or at least a card would fill that space.

  So with the type of relationship we had I want to say; Thank you for the comfort of being around, the times you helped me coupe with issues, and the gap we closed by coming to my home I established and letting me know that the “Library” that’s in plan is something my father would approve of.

  Even though we were many years apart in age you and I were most alike. 

  Rest now Robert and save me a space, I will see you one day, but until then watch the things I do and decisions I make, I will always need guidance.

When Linda and I were attending Gardena High School (1978-1980), we were on the school's badminton team.  Robert would take time out of his busy schedule to teach Linda and I the skills needed to become better badminton players.  He shared lots of tips and techniques.  Robert was always so kind and patient with us.  I will always remember this moment in time.  Robert, you will be missed my friend.  Lois

We had the amazing opportunity of meeting Robert during his Stem cell transplant in Seattle. We are from Wisconsin and Jer(my husband) and Robert sat side by side going through the transplant. We will miss you our friend and we hope and pray you are finally at peace.
