

Born August 10, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to David and Clara Unruh, Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, David, Richard and Eleanore.
He is survived by his former wife of 26 years, Barbara Ann Adams Unruh, his doting daughters Lynn Rene Sanchez and Janice Lee Villapando and his beloved grandsons, Jack Christopher Sanchez and Derek Robert Sanchez.
Robert graduated from Denby High School in Detroit, Michigan in 1942. He would then serve as a Corporal in the US Marines Corps during World War II from 1943 to 1946 and fought bravely on the island of Guadalcanal. Soon after returning stateside, he studied Music at The University of Southern California. Robert’s love of music and gardening lasted his entire life. He was an accomplished pianist and organist, and loved a beautiful yard full of roses and a garden of vegetables.
He built his home in Woodland Hills, California on Oxnard Street in 1963. He would spend the rest of his life in that home.
His craftsmanship would serve him well as it would become his trade. Robert was a professional painter and wall covering contractor.
There was nothing more important to Robert than to be surrounded by his family and watch his Grandson’s play Baseball.
