Left to cherish her memory: Daughters, Joanne Gilroy of Steamboat Springs, CO and Kathleen Small of San Antonio, TX; son, John Gilroy Jr. (Mellanie) of Lincoln, NE; daughter-in-law, Toni Gilroy of Chicago, IL; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death: Son, Michael Gilroy; grandson, Connor Gilroy; and her sister and two brothers.
Rosemarie attended Mount St. Mary’s College on a scholarship and graduated with distinctive honors. She received her nursing degree from St. Vincent’s College and later joined the armed forces as a Lieutenant Nurses Corps USA. A WWII veteran, Rosemarie served from 1943-1945 in Honolulu, HI. She was a military wife for 26 years, widely traveled, raised 4 children, and continued her nursing career at Los Robles hospital. She was a Eucharistic minister and an active member of St. Paschcal Baylon for 50 years and will be dearly missed by all.
A Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Tues., Feb. 25, 2014 at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary: 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd., Westlake Village, CA. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Wed., Feb. 26, 2014 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church: 155 E. Janss Rd., Thousand Oaks, CA 91360.
