

Russell William Enoch, 99, passed away in Newport Beach, CA, on February 10, 2015. Russell was born in New Brunswick, NJ, on Dec. 4, 1915, the oldest son of William Independence Enoch and Agnes Long Hughes Enoch. During WWII Russell served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Austin, Texas, and France. He married his long-time sweetheart Hazel Louise duBois on Valentine’s Day 1943. After moving to Thousand Oaks, CA, in 1958 he worked at Rocketdyne in Canoga Park building space shuttle thrust engines, including the first space shuttle Columbia, and the rocket engines that launched the Apollo missions to the moon.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife Hazel, older sister Dorothea Hageman of RI, youngest brother John W. Enoch of NJ, and infant sisters Agnes, Ada, and Amy. He is survived by his daughters Leslie Wilde of Hayden, ID; Alice Ray of Bly, OR; Nancy Swancutt of Fountain Valley, CA; his sisters Emma S. Enoch and Evelyn L. Keseleski both of New Brunswick, NJ; his brother William G. Enoch of Edison, NJ; his grandchildren William Robinson of San Diego, CA; Gregory Wilde of Coeur d’Alene, ID; Scott Wilde of Carey, ID; Erin Genzano of Huntington Beach, CA; Lindsay Swancutt of San Francisco, CA; Kerry Swancutt of Huntington Beach, CA; great grandchildren Brooke Wilde and Matthew Wilde of Carey, ID; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Russell will be at rest beside Hazel in Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, Westlake Village, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust (www.dav.org).
