Sherry Anne Brannen of Thousand Oaks passed away June 26th, 2020 in her home surrounded by family (age 85). She was born to the late Clarence and Margaret Johnson, July 3rd, 1934 in Burwell, Nebraska. Sherry graduated from Burwell High School in 1950 and received a BA in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1954. She was married to the late Raymond Brannen in 1957, they lived in Inglewood for four years before relocating to Simi Valley, Ca. Sherry is survived by four children and their spouses: Jennie Higgins (Randy) of Katy, Texas, Diane (Jeff) Brehmer of Temecula, California, Robert (Gail) Brannen of Simi Valley, California and Ellen (Brett) Lister of Thousand Oaks, California. Sherry is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. As a single parent she courageously provided for her family by working at Capitol Records, Westlake High School ,Thousand Oaks High School, and Conejo Valley Adult School. Sherry built her home on the foundation of her love for her children. Many occasions were opportunities to fill the table full of delicious food. Gift giving was her specialty. It was her delight to shop for gifts that would delight hearts. She loved to garden, working the soil with her hands. Her yard was full of beautiful flowers echoed her love for all of us to see. She was beautiful inside and out. Her twinkling eyes and warm smile were available to all she meant. She was selfless in her life and in her death. She left her family with the joy of holding her memories like a beautiful bouquet.

So many wonderful memories and so much love to surround yourself with. This lady was on a mission to enjoy her life with you all and I think she got to accomplish that. She is a part of everyone and no one can take that away. Keep her close and know she’s always there for you.
She is away for now but in time you will See her and continue your love. Hold on to something special each of you had and don’t forget to tell her that you are ok and she is forever in your heart ❤️. Love her from afar as you look to the stars twinkling in heaven. She is smiling down.
