Born in Venice, California, Shirley grew up in Topanga Canyon with her mother, Hermoine Cox, her father, Albert Cox, and her three brothers.
Shirley was happily married to her husband, John Denham, for more than 50 wonderful years. Together they built a loving family and shared a lifetime of great memories.
She worked as a telephone operator for most of her adult life and remained dedicated to her work and the people around her until retiring from Los Robles Hospital at the age of 79. Shirley was known for her kindness, work ethic, and genuine care for others.
Her love of life, family, and friends was her trademark. Shirley had a special gift for making people feel welcome and loved, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Dan Denham and his wife Linda, and Dave Denham and his wife Krissy; along with her five grandchildren, Parker, Sydney, Drake, Sage, and Cash, who were truly the joy of her life.
A funeral service will be held at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park in Westlake Village, California, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May, 28, 2026.
Shirley will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
