

Stephen Eugene Beals, beloved husband, father, brother, and devoted servant of his community and faith, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, in Thousand Oaks, California. He was 82 years old. Born on August 30, 1943, in Quincy, Illinois, Stephen lived a life defined by intellectual curiosity, steadfast integrity, and a generous spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Early Life & Education
Stephen grew up in Quincy, Illinois, before his family relocated to Denver, Colorado, and eventually settled in Fresno, California. He pursued his passion for problem-solving and engineering at California State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1967 — a distinction that foreshadowed the remarkable career that lay ahead.
A Distinguished Career
Over a career spanning six decades, Stephen became one of the most respected technical minds in the information technology and data science industries. He began his professional journey as a technical consultant to the aerospace manufacturing industry while at Ward Davis, establishing a foundation of expertise that would define his legacy.
In 2001, Stephen joined Sun Microsystems as a Data Services Engineer, where he assumed responsibility for all Accenture operating groups across the United States. He concluded his distinguished career at Ingram Micro as a Senior Technology Consultant, serving as a technical lead to global Systems Integrator Partners in the consumption and resale of IT lifecycle services — working directly with some of the largest corporate clients in America as their trusted advisor and expert.

Faith, Service & Community
Stephen’s professional accomplishments, while impressive, were matched by his quiet and constant service to others. For the past ten years, he devoted himself as a volunteer Care Minister for Calvary Community Church, offering comfort and compassion to those in need. Together with his dear friend Dan Morgan, he co-led the Men’s Bible Study at Oakmont Senior Center for five years — a ministry that became a cherished gathering for fellowship and spiritual growth.
A natural leader and dedicated neighbor, Stephen also served as President and Board Member of the Racquet Club Villas Homeowners Association for twelve years, working tirelessly to strengthen the community he loved.
Survivors
Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Henry Beals and Virginia Ann Beals, and by his beloved son, Steve Spaulding Eugene Beals.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Vera Beals; his daughter, Tammy Beals-Yarak; his brothers, Michael and Bill Beals; and his sisters, Darcy Maglio, Deborah Lewis, Tracy Lustyan, and Jeannie Wiley. He leaves behind a family whose lives he enriched immeasurably, and a community forever better for his presence.
Memorial Service
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, June 27 at 11am, followed by a Reception at Calvary Community Church, 5495 Via Rocas, Westlake Village, CA 91362. Interment at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park.
