Stephen “Steve” Bozylinski, a resident of Thousand Oaks, California, passed away on April 24, 2026, at the age of 76. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he spent his early years there, attending St. Mary's Seminary & University before moving to California. During a stopover in Denver, Colorado, he met his future wife, Joyce Parker, who accompanied him on his journey to California, where they would share 49 wonderful years together.
Steve earned his PhD from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1987 and dedicated his career to private practice as a clinical psychologist from 1990 until his retirement in 2025. He specialized in testing children and was widely respected for his diagnostic abilities. He had a positive impact on the lives of many children that will be felt for generations to come.
Animals held a special place in Steve’s heart. In addition to the family’s many dogs and cats, he loved riding his mountain bike in the nearby open space to feed the ducks and rabbits, and there were always bird feeders in his yard filled with seeds.
Music was another passion of his, and it brought him immense joy to play the guitars he collected over the years. He enjoyed staying active and was a runner, mountain biker, and tennis player throughout his life, always striving to excel in whatever he pursued.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Joyce, and four sisters: Linda Bozylinski, Rosanne Grimaldi, Bonnie Bozylinski, and Anita Owens from the Baltimore area, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was welcomed with open arms and loved by his wife’s family, including sisters-in-law Norma Mai and Linda Gibson, and niece Leslie Fitzgerald. He will be deeply missed.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service will be held. If you would like to honor him, please consider donating in his name to the Best Friends Animal Society.
