Steven James Salie

August 18, 1968 – August 20, 2024
Obituary of Steven James Salie
IN THE CARE OF

Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory

Our beloved Steven James Salie of Thousand Oaks tragically left us on August 20, 2024.

Steven is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Erin and their adoring sons, Thomas and Christopher. A sister, Tami and niece, Ashley.

Preceded in death by his mother Doris Salie, his father Ruben Salie, and his great nephew, Kale.

Steven was born August 18, 1968 in Norwalk, CA to Doris and Ruben Salie. He grew up in and around Orange Co raising hell with friends and Cousins.

Steven began his professional career in fabrication before finding his calling in the food service manufacturing operations industry.

For 20+ years Steven rose through the ranks at Puratos beginning in Maintenance and finishing as Site manager. Which made it easy for him to settled into the general manager role at J&J Snack foods. Steven was dedicated and loyal to his work and was proud of the teams he led.

Steven was a quiet man with a great sense of humor and a giant personality. As a husband and father he was loving and sensitive. As a boss and coworker he was firm yet fair. And as a friend he was loyal and caring.

Steven was an observer, which made him an excellent duck hunter and avid fisherman. He enjoyed being in nature, hiking and camping. His favorite spots were among the Aspen trees in Utah and in the middle of the desert staring up at the sky and the endless stars with his wife.

Steven turned his wife and sons onto geo-caching and spent countless days hiking and teaching them to find all these hidden treasures. The saying take a treasure, leave a treasure took on a whole new meaning. Steven takes their love with him and left endless amounts of family memories.

In turn, his sons turned him onto catching goofy creatures online with Pokemon Go. They would go out for hours searching for and battling Pokemon. Many times running out at all hours chasing them, all of them eagerly jumping into the car in pajamas and no shoes. Those are the memories they will carry for a lifetime.

The love and dedication for his sons was endless, nothing he wouldn't do for them. There wasn't anything that would keep him from flying across the US to see them compete in 1 championship baseball game. After celebrating the Win flying back the next day for work.

Steven had a sensitive side showing his wife his deep love by leaving small gestures, a hand picked flower or a simple note on her windshield, just to bring a smile and a warm thought for the day.

Steven was easy going and happy with the simple things. His motto in life was "Let it Ride". He loved deeply and with his whole heart, leaving behind cherished memories. His wings were ready, but our hearts were not.

A private celebration of life will take place in Utah for the family.

In lieu of flowers, please leave a favorite memory of Steven.
