

Tula Mercedes Galloway, age 97, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Los Robles Medical Center. Tula was born January 22, 1928 in Managua, Nicaragua to Romulo Rosales and Nena Gomez. Tula is survived by her children Javier Gutierrez, Maria Rigney, Ruth Cavanah and her brother Romulo Rosales. Tula is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, as well as, 12 great-grandchildren.
Tula first came to the States as a young girl to study in San Francisco. She loved the States so much she returned in 1963 to stay. She worked as a secretary at Industrial Indemnity for many years and later at GM Motors as an Executive Secretary, for the head of purchasing, where she retired from.
Tula, truly lived a full life. She was an advent traveler. She visited many European countries, as well as, Alaska, South America, Central America, Mexico, Russia, Israel, China, Spain and many States in the U.S. She traveled to many countries with her daughters and her grand-daughter, Patricia. However, her favorite place to visit was her homeland, Nicaragua. She kept Nicaragua close to her heart. Next to traveling and seeing new places, Tula was most happy spending time with her family. Her hobbies were many. As a child, she learned to play the piano. Her love of the piano was so grand, she bought herself a baby grand piano. She enjoyed listening to music, her favorite being classical music. She took pleasure in reading. Her favorite read was poetry from her favorite Nicaraguan poet, Ruben Dario. She also enjoyed needlepoint, crochet, calligraphy, flower arrangements and dancing. She was a very good dancer! She liked going to the gym and taking walks through her neighborhood with her friends.
Family and friends who touched Tula's life are invited to attend Funeral services at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Westlake Village on March 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm. This will be followed by services at Pierce Brothers in Westlake Village. Please join Tula's family to Celebrate her life at Boccaccio's Restaurant in Westlake Village. We would like to reminisce, grieve and rejoice Tula's AMAZING life with you.
