passed away peacefully at 4:10 pm on January 20th, 2019 Huntington Beach California,
surrounded by his children, grand children and close friends.
Anh Quoc Pham was the widower of Hong-Anh Nguyen, who predeceased him in 1995 in Maryland. They shared 38 years of marriage together.
Mr Anh Pham was born in Phan-Thiet, South of Vietnam. After high school he signed up for air force training L’Ecole de L’Air in Salon de Provence, France and graduated as air force pilot Lieutenant in 1958. After getting married and having his first child in France, Mr. Anh took a post as the director of the air force school at Nha-Trang, South Vietnam, in 1960. In 1968 he received training in Houston, Texas and joined the commercial flight crew of the South East Asia line of Boeing, piloting a 727. By 1975 when the war was over and communist regime took over Vietnam, Mr. Anh retired from the air force as a Major. He endured 7 years in a re-education camp under the communist government. Due to his service with the previous regime, in 1991 he brought his entire family to the US under the Humanitarian Operation Program of HGW Bush.
Mr. Anh enjoyed tennis, cooking, pottery, painting, activities with his friends from the air force, and most importantly was a caregiver and role model for all his grandchildren.
He is survived by his 3 daughters Kieu-Trang (spouse Dung), Anh-Thu (spouse Gary), Thien-Kim (spouse Peter), his son Quoc-Sy (spouse My-Phuong), and grandchildren Sean, Emily and Tiffany, and great-grandchildren Liam.
The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 11:00-11:30 AM at the Peek Funeral Home, Westminster California. The visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The cremation is for close family on Sunday, January 26, at 8:30 AM. A Memorial service for his close family in Maryland will be held on a later day.
