Dinh was one of my favorite people almost from the moment I met him. Though quiet and reserved, his disarming smile and friendly conversation made a welcomed addition to my visits with Mindy. I knew he was a highly intelligent man with a stellar career, but his sweet, playful nature came shining through when he enjoyed the crawfish boils at our home. He told me he looked forward to the next ones, which occur only in May, but my daughter’s wedding, my own health issues, then the pandemic delayed the boil for three years. I promised him that this May there would be a crawfish boil for sure! When I learned of Dinh’s passing I cried, not only for the loss for his beautiful family, but for my loss of a friend. In May, our crawfish boil will be dedicated to Mr. Dinh Huu Dao, may he rest in peace.
