Thinking of how to tell you how much your father meant to me, is something I'll never be able to put into words. To me, he's family. And in a weird way he gave me the family I always wanted because I have you. Anita, I know you lost your best friend but you're my best friend, because I have you. I still feel him with me. His legacy lives within you. You embody his empathy and see good in everyone, can do, attitude. His smile, his goofiness, most of all: his kindness! Joe will forever live on through you and all of the lives he has touched. Down in the history books as the great of all time, community father. I know he is very proud of you and Aileen and will always be with you both. I hope my words can bring your family some comfort.

Joe did not know this, but If it wasn’t for him and his business, I would not be able to climb out of the dark place in my life. He gave me some sort of freedom that added to the change in my life for the better. I worked for him for a short while, but continued to visit Family’s afterwards here and there when I could to support and say hi. He will always be known to me as a kind man, who always seem to have a mysterious history.  I will always remember the time he protected me and my coworkers from a bad fight, Lol. 

Thank Joe for your business, for introducing my friends, for trying to teach me Vietnamese, for the start of my freedom, for being kind, for just being you. May you rest in Peace.
