I’m so sorry to hear that Ken passed away. I first met him at the Madrid Apts in 1981, and he and Keith helped my friend Kathy & I move into our apartment. He was always a kind, generous man and I feel lucky to have met him and become friends. The last time I saw him was at a Madrid Apts reunion in 2015 & was reminded of what a wonderful guy he was & how blessed I was to meet him (& our other Madrid friends) in our early 20s.

Dear Ken,
It’s hard to say goodbye to someone who meant so much to us. You weren’t just my brother-in-law, you were a true part of the heart of our family. I keep thinking about how you were always there, especially during Christmas and birthdays, helping with the setup, cooking, and cleanup, giving your time so selflessly and making everything feel special, and I still find myself wondering who’s going to step in the way you always did; I’ll always remember how you showed up at Wesley’s graduation with us, sharing in that proud moment with your steady presence and kind spirit, and later, even through your fight with cancer, you showed strength and grace that inspired us all—you leave behind a space that can never be filled, but also a lifetime of love and memories we will carry with us always; you will deeply be missed and forever remembered. Until we meet again…

Uncle Ken,

We will miss you very much. We had so many great memories some of my favorite ones being his birthdays and at Christmas time. Uncle Ken always had a pocket knife on the ready for presents and possessed such a witty sense of humor that made every conversation special. You will be deeply missed.

Kamper Ken, as he was known to some of his oldest friends, was always a great joy to be around.  Ken's humor was unsurpassed, as was skill at story telling, as evident in his frequent winnings at the liars' contests that he used to attend.  
  Always a great friend and will be missed by many.
