Rest in paradise, my dude. You were a kind, gentle soul with a beautiful sense of humor and a heart of gold. I’m saddened I couldn’t be there to wish you a proper farewell today. You were a huge part of my Walgreens memories and a staple in the Walgreens family forever. My condolences to all who knew and loved you. I can hear the sound of your keys jingling and your deep laugh right now and you’ll be remembered for the joy you brought to many. 

Vandy was a close friend of my older brother Tony. I’ve always looked up to Vandy and their group as I was three years younger than all of them. My favorite memories of Vandy was when I would feel down on myself about work, family, or personal problems and he always managed to bring levity into the situation. I’m going to miss his smile and laughter. Being around him felt like I had another older brother to look up to.

I knew Vandy slightly during our school years, and even knowing him slightly, I knew he was a cool, friendly, and mellow guy—all pleasant attributes. Vandy, you'll be missed.  

Countless memories. How about when I literally saved your life in Vegas. You were half-way stepping onto the strip late at night while we were walking and I spotted a car speeding toward us and I pulled you back hard just as it zoomed past your foot. That was pretty amazing considering where we were and what time it was haha. What about the first time Shin introduced you and the gang to us and the Shadaloo squad. I remember meeting you and thinking here is the tough looking dude who couldn't be more kind or accepting and friendly. Shoot. Every night at Shadaloo! That was the start of a great friendship and too many great memories to count. Trips to shows, meetups at raves, snow trips...too many, but also too little. My only regret is not grabbing that beer like we said we would. I'll miss you my brother.

I'm so sad my heart is broken because my friend vandy was taken too soon I question our Lord why he takes the good instead of the bad I guess my Lord is the one that makes the last decision when we leave this earth my memories about my friend vandy he was so charming helpful caring and my memories about vandy is the slick of his hair so handsome and his tattoo he had in his arm but the most important part he was my friend now he's walking with my Lord to the Gates of heaven where there's no pain and no more suffering you will always be in my heart ❤️

May 2019.  Walgreens "family" , who could come, from our store celebrating my retirement with dinner.  Vandy came before his night shift started. Thank you Vandy!  It was so pleasant working with you, lots of laughs too!

Vandy has been one of my closest friends since I moved here.  Both me and Curtis always looked forward to foodie fridays with him and Leslie. There were some weeks we did this every weekend back to back. I will always remember the time he got mistook for a waiter, when he took us to a buffet and couldn’t get food without people coming up to him and asking questions. We miss you so much Vandy, it’s not the same without you.  You were such a thoughtful, funny and good person. You have left a empty space in everyone’s hearts that can never be filled. I hope you’re at peace.


 Vandy, you were always such a kind hearted friend. We may not have been in touch frequently but anytime we talked or saw each other it was like no time had passed. It hurts to write this message. I met vandy in Middle School and he was part of our “neighborhood” kid group 💕 I spent some of my best childhood years with Vandy and he was always so genuine, kind and funny. I will forever remember his spikey fohawk. 💕💕💕 you made such an impact on me and gave me some of the best childhood memories ever. You will be missed but not forgotten 💕💕
