Adelaide was born in the Bronx, NY on May 22nd, 1936 to John and Margaret (Kelly-Landi) Piscitelli. She was predeceased last year by her husband of 57 years, John J. Ward. She is survived by her daughters Kelly Ward and Nancy Bauer; her son in-law (who was like the son she never had) Michael Bauer; her most cherished and only grandchild, Michaela Ward Bauer, all of Westwood, NJ; she is also survived by her loving sister, Rosemarie Locorotondo and many nieces and nephews.
Adelaide attended Hunter College and spent many years working for the VA Hospital in the Bronx, where she learned more about medicine and oncology than we ever imagined (she impressed both Dad and her oncologist with the wealth of her knowledge!). She then worked for Colgate-Palmolive Company, where she met the love of her life. Following marriage and starting a family, she worked for Scholastic Books in Englewood, NJ, and finally Bristol-Myers in NYC, NY as an Executive Assistant until her retirement in 1993.
Adelaide was a parishioner of Our Lady Of The Visitation in Paramus, NJ for 56 years. Aside from her complete love of her family, Adelaide enjoyed cooking (Sunday dinners will never be the same), entertaining family and friends at her home, travelling both within the U.S. and out of country (Italy being her favorite international destination) and gardening. As self-appointed family historian, she dug deep into genealogy in her retirement years. She devoted countless hours uncovering a tremendous amount of information on both sides of our family. She was a member of three genealogical societies: The Genealogical Society of Bergen County, The Italian Genealogy Group and The Hudson County Genealogical & Historical Society. She will remain the strongest and most caring example we could ever aspire to be.
