

GOLDBERG, Allan, 80, of Montvale, NJ, passed away on August 2nd, 2026. Allan is survived by his beloved wife of over five decades, Joyce, along with his son, Ythan, his daughter, Brie, and four cherished grandchildren.
Allan met Joyce while the two were working as educators at P.S. 123 in Harlem, NY, and they married in 1970. He built his career at the U.S. Treasury Department as a tax advocate and, following retirement, continued his commitment to public service by volunteering in various positions at AARP's tax aide program.
As fitness and tennis remained central to his life; he belonged to numerous tennis and fitness clubs, drawn by both the health benefits and the camaraderie of playing with friends and family. As a devoted father and head of the family, he wore every hat imaginable: coach, tutor, chauffeur, accountant, travel agent and handyman.
Later in life, he discovered a new passion in the kitchen, becoming the family's go-to chef and turning every gathering into an occasion for gourmet meals.
The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, August 4th from 11AM-1PM. A Celebration of Allan’s life will commence at 3:30PM at Kol Anshe Yisroel/Maplewood Cemetery at 9003 Route 23A in Jewett, NY.
