Born in Shanghai, China, Angela immigrated to the United States in 1948. In 1949, she married her high school sweetheart, Edward Chang. She received her bachelor’s degree from Alfred University and went on to earn her master’s degree in applied mathematics from the University at Buffalo. She co-founded Angeward Laboratories in New Jersey with her husband, and they worked together for more than 30 years.
Angela enjoyed a full social life and carried herself with elegance, always impeccably dressed and ready for any occasion. She could often be found ballroom dancing at the Rainbow Room in New York City, painting, and traveling the world on cruises with her beloved husband and their wide circle of friends. She also loved a good game of mahjong, especially when she was winning.
Most of all, Angela spoke of her family as her greatest pride in life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Angela was the beloved wife of the late Edward Chang, with whom she shared 75 years of marriage. She is survived by her devoted sons, Dr. Alfred Chang and his wife Lana and Andrew and his wife Cheryl. Grandmother to Christopher, his wife Michele; Stephen, Isabella, Alexander and Noah and great-grandmother to Eli and James. A private family service will be held next week.
