Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Angelo built a life rooted in hard work and generosity. A retired sheet-metal fabricator, he was known as a true jack of all trades—the kind of person who could fix anything, build anything, and always showed up when someone needed a hand.
Angelo’s greatest legacy was his decades of dedication to the Knights of Columbus. As a proud Third-Degree Member of Council #5846 in Oakland, he poured his heart into the organization. He was a constant presence at social events, a reliable steward in maintaining the council’s facilities, and a tireless supporter of its charitable mission. Whether setting up a fundraiser, lending his skills to a project, or simply offering encouragement to fellow members, Angelo embodied the spirit of service and fraternity that defines the Knights. His contributions enriched the council and strengthened the community he loved.
Angelo was the beloved father of Dawn Marie Cortes and the loving grandfather of Giancarlo and Brianna Cortes, who brought immense joy and pride into his life.
He is survived by his brother Bruce Casbarro, and he is predeceased by his brother Robert Casbarro. Angelo was also a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews—Michael, Jason, Casey, and Robert Jr. Casbarro—each of whom held a special place in his heart.
The family will announce a memorial service at the Becker Funeral Home in Westwood, NJ, in the coming months to celebrate Angelo’s life, honor his memory, and gather in the spirit of the love he so freely gave.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Knights of Columbus Council #5846, 7 Court House Place, Oakland, NJ 07436, or online at www.KofC5846.org.
