Born, Anita Engelberta Hoffmann, in Trier, Germany in 1937, and raised by her mother, Margareta (Omi) until she married and emigrated to the United States in 1956 with her husband – our father, grandfather and great-grandfather – Paul P. Kreusch.
They resided in a small apartment in E. Rutherford, NJ before moving to Englewood Cliffs in 1958 to start their family and in 1973, settled down in Montvale, NJ, where Anita still lived until her passing.
Together, they built a successful wine import company centered around the family’s German wine business and were never far apart – enjoying their time together entertaining, travelling, boating, and going “upstate” to their farm. Anita was the consummate homemaker, handling each task with beauty and grace – equally adept at “keeping peace in the valley” (as she used to call it) among her four children or impeccably creating a lifetime of festive holiday memories.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Anita (George) Linder, her sons, Paul(Toni), and John(Carol) Kreusch, her grandchildren, Jessica (DJ) Pierro, Tara (John) Conway and Leonard (Raquel) Kreusch IV and their mother, Barbara Cote (form. Kreusch), GM (Lyndsey) Linder and Brittany (Jonathan) Skillman, Emily and Natalie Kreusch, and Johnny and Julia Kreusch, and her five great-grandchildren, Mia and Danny Pierro, Sean Conway and Reese and Bennett Linder.
Her husband, Paul and eldest son, Leonard, predeceased her in 2008 and 1998, respectively.
Although beautiful, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in honor of Anita to one of your favorite charities.
