Anne-Marie Bottazzi, 62, of River Edge, passed away peacefully on January 20th at home with the love of her family surrounding her. Born on May 30, 1958, in Bergenfield, New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joan and Joseph Zitelli. Anne-Marie met her college sweetheart, soulmate and her future husband, Joseph Bottazzi, at Glassboro State College in 1978. They have been married for 36 years.
Anne-Marie was a talented writer and spent her career connecting brands with consumers. She served as the Vice President of Public Relations at Prentice Hall Books and worked with a boutique firm, Brushfire Public Relations, as a PR executive and consultant. Anne-Marie was a devoted parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Parish Church for 34 years. With her philanthropic spirit, she supported her community in many ways, including training the family dog to be a therapy dog and visit with local senior citizen homes and volunteering for the Crisis Text Line to support those in need.
She is loved deeply by so many people and her extended family, including her daughter Lauren & son-in-law Matt, daughter Courtney & future-son-in-law Brad, son Joseph Timothy and her two bearded collies, Molly & Tucker. Anne-Marie is loved by her three brothers and sisters-in-law Joseph & Andrea, Thomas & Marivic and James & Stephanie, and her sister and best friend Mary Beth and her brother-in-law John. She is also adored by her six nieces and five nephews. Over the moon about becoming a grandmother to her first grandbaby, she will be the most incredible guardian angel to a little girl expected in February.
A beautiful person inside and out, her style, kindness and humor were just a small part of what made Anne-Marie so special. She loved her family and friends fiercely and radiated warmth, strength and joy. Her fun-loving spirit and zest for life will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Her most treasured memories were spent in her “happy place” on Long Beach Island – with a book and a beach chair, sing-a-longs around the fire pit and strolling along the bayside with her furbabies to her favorite coffee shop.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 25th from 4-8pm. The Bottazzi family encourages you to please be safe while paying your respects. Please review the Covid Guidelines below.
A private funeral and mass celebrating her life and faith will take place the following day. While they wish everyone could attend, your safety is paramount to their family and it will be a closed mass. However, a live-stream will be available beginning at 10am on Tuesday and can be accessed through the St. Peter’s website here: https://saint-peter.org/livestream/.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Anne-Marie’s name to the Family Promise of Bergen County’s Walk-in Dinner Program.
