Anthony John Selvaggio — known to everyone as Tony — passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on April 15, 1950, in the High Bridge section of the Bronx, he was the son of Rose and Anthony Selvaggio and remained close with his High Bridge friends throughout his life. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Pace University.
Tony spent his career in accounting, working as a controller at several area country clubs, including Indian Trail Club, Upper Montclair Country Club, and Edgewood Country Club, and also had his own accounting practice, P.A.T. Services, where his daughter Kim later joined him as a partner. He married Joyce Patricia (Jacobs) Selvaggio, and together they raised their family in River Vale, New Jersey.
Tony’s greatest passion was golf, especially in Myrtle Beach, where he and Joyce kept a second home. He was a devoted Mets and Nets fan and continued playing pickup basketball himself well into his 70s. He was known for his warmth, humor, honesty, and unwavering loyalty, but above all for the love he had for his family.
Tony is survived by his wife, Joyce; his children, Kim (Bob), Anthony (Danielle), and Michael (Melissa); his siblings, Catherine and Matt; and his grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Adrianna, Dylan, Mason, Ella, Jack, Henry, and Cameron. He was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Anthony Selvaggio. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the family and friends who loved him.
Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675, US, on September 18, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 268 Old Tappan Rd, Old Tappan, NJ 07675, US, on September 19, 2026, at 10:30 am.
Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery, 23 Kinderkamack Rd, Westwood, NJ 07675, US, on September 19, 2026, at 11:45 am.
