

Up until the end, Carmela (Melina) maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, appreciation of beauty, and love of family and friends.
Carmela's life can best be described by five words: Family, Friends, Flowers, Food and Fun. In her 88 years with us has had an abundance of each.
Carmela was born on March 16, 1937 in Limbadi, Italy to Maria and Domenico Barbieri. She was married in Italy on December 6, 1958 to Joseph Buda (predeceased) for 28 years. They came to America to start their new family.
Carmela was a loving mother to Rachel (Silvio), Maria (John) and Anthony. A beloved grandmother of 8 grandchildren, Rosella (Anthony), Chiara, Samantha (Chris), Martina, Gianluca, Alessandra, Analisa, John and 2 great grandchildren, Aria and Cecilia. Devoted sister of Delfina (Giuseppe), Edoardo (Mimma), Rosanna (Salvatore) and all her nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She is predeceased be her siblings, Giuseppe and Infinita.
Carmela's passion was cooking, making home made pasta, Italian cookies, and creating her flower and vegetable gardens. She loved listening to Italian music and loved traveling on religious retreats in Northern Europe.
A visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home, located at 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675, on January 6, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A religious ceremony is scheduled at St. Andrew's R.C. Church, 120 Washington Avenue, Westwood, NJ, on January 7, 2026, starting at 10:30 am.

The committal service will take place at Garden of Memories, 300 Soldier Hill Road, Township of Washington, New Jersey, 07676, on January 7, 2026, at 11:30 am.
