Dear Dave and Tina,
It's been two years since we lost Dan, and it doesn't seem that long. I have imagined the pain and sorrow if I had lost one of my boys. Even though I haven't tears come to my eyes and I get a huge lump in my throat.  After visiting with you guys these past two years, I see a strong relationship and a great degree of support you provide each other. You have a big missing piece in your life, but it must go on for Dan's sake. I'm very sure he is happy now and resting comfortably. The small time I had with Dan and you Dave was wonderful. Never don't think that we all loved him dearly. Love you guys forever.

This is not a sad memorial but simply a fond memory of Danny and his Dad. Condolences go a long way however what we want to remember are the good memories.  I met Dave in 1995 and Danny was 5 years old. Our company moved to Parsippany NJ, and I was hard bent to find a place to live. Well, there was Dave and Danny. They were a good family and Dave help him grow. Donna (wife) and I grew to love him as much as our own. And that is still true to this day. "My" boy Danny had a tumulus life to say the least, but he did the best he could.  I have pictures of Danny and can see a smile on his face. That's what I remember. I have two boys and can't imagine what my best friend is going through. I can't do more except love him and his lovely wife (Tina) more. Love you very much my dear friends

To Mr. Cahoon, my deepest of sympathies and condolences. I can tell you Dan spoke of you and Tina often and with only love and devotion. Your loss is shared by many.
To Dan, the man with the biggest heart. You did not have a mean bone in your body. All I can do now is my best to carry your big heart in mine. When I get where you are now I want yours to be the first face I see. Till then my dear sweet boy. Love you.

Dan, I’m heartbroken by this news. We knew each other when we were teens in Jersey, which was such a difficult and scary time in our lives. I feel thats probably why we never reconnected because I was so adamant on distancing myself from such a painful time in my life. But you were one of the few friends I had back then, and it was important for us to have known each other and to see part of ourselves in each other, and to know we were good.   

I am grateful for our friendship and our memories.  This was a photo of us from when we were young in late 1990’s/early 2000’s. Just heartbreaking to know that Dan is no longer with us. May he rest in peace. 

Dan loved fashion and in the late 90’s we loved DKNY and sneakers!

He was a special person in my life during especially during a very formative period of time for me. These photos capture our special memories during the end of high school and my early college years. We were so young and carefree. I’d like to think he was happy during these years. He will be missed dearly.  

He loved children at such a young age and was passionate about the importance of early childhood education. He must have only been 19 or so in the photo. Such a sweet soul. 

R.I.P my friend , I took this picture for you, I really wish I took one with you , had a wounderful time with you first time knowing you , a happy moment gaining a sister on that special day, and I spend it with you and all my wounderful family, you will be truly miss , my condolences to the family and friends🙏🏾❤️

I have an endless supply of memories….and photos of you.  I’ve spent the last few days going through our pictures and being drawn back to the days we spent with each other.  Each picture of you has brought a smile to me.  You always made me laugh and took great care in each adventure we went on together.  You insisted on always taking me out of my comfort zone.  I think you greatly enjoyed doing that to me.  I sometimes struggle with being in the present moment, you knew that and would remind me to “be here in this moment” I promise I will continue to try.  I recall seeing my first concert with you (No doubt), the many trips you made to visit me in Ithaca, being in the audience for Price is right haha, and all the nights we spent being silly with our friends.   My early 20’s were either spent at your house in Boonton, at school in Ithaca, or on DJ’s porch.   I cherish the time we had together.  See you at Fridays! You are loved! ❤️ Greg

I am so very sorry for your loss Mr Cahoon & family. Dan spoke of you so often that I feel like I know you. I’ve only been to the outside of your house when we dropped off Xmas and Thanksgiving decorations a couple times.  Please let me know if you need help with anything. I don’t live far from Dan.  I would be happy to help in any way I can. I know Dan loved you more than anything and I hope there is some comfort in that knowledge. I wish I was meeting you under better circumstances but happy nonetheless to meet you.  Please let me offer my condolences & deepest sympathy to you and your family. I hope my arrangement makes it to you safely. I chose the one that reminded me of Dan the most. The zen garden. He always had bamboo at his apartments. I loved your son & I will miss him for the rest of my life.   The void that he is leaving in my life is so great. Not sure it can ever be filled. He was truly one of a kind. I’ll miss his laugh most of all. It was infectious.

I loved Dan’s uniqueness - his different way of looking at life. His heart was huge; his love and concern for others greater than most; and his silliness irreplaceable. My heart is so sad and I will miss him very much. I hope you are creating beautiful art with your Aunt Linda in heaven. 

I'm so very sorry to hear of Dans passing.  I'll always remember the fun we had in our friend group back in the late 90's and early 2000's.  So many great memories.  Dan could put a smile on anyone's face and always brightened up the room.  He will be greatly missed.
