Daniel G. Shanley

SHANLEY, Daniel G., 61 of Westwood, NJ, a retired driver for the DPW of Bergenfield, NJ passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013. Born on August 2, 1951 in New York, NY to William and Rita (Cavanagh) Shanley. Daniel was a graduate of the Cardinal Farley Military Academy and also attended Dayton University in Dayton, OH.

Beloved brother of Brian Shanley and his wife Patricia of Monroe, NY, Terence Shanley and his wife Linda of Middle Island, NY, and Kathleen P. Cunningham and her husband Thomas of Monroe, NY. Loving uncle of Melanie Lomascolo, Scott Shanley, Christopher Cunningham, Brendan Cunningham and their families. Daniel was a friend of Bill W for 25 years. He was survived by numerous friends and cousins. A special thank you goes to his friends who helped him through his ALS, especially Hank Clavell, Jim Beardsley, Kathy Rutligliano, Mark Horgan, his friends from Cardinal Farley Military Academy and all the people at Flynn's Deli in Westwood, NJ.

The family will receive their friends for visitation at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, May 14 from 4-7 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at 10 AM at St. Anastasia Parish Church, Rt. 17M, Harriman, NY. Interment to follow at St. Anastasia Cemetery, Harriman, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Daniel’s name to the Community Hospice of Bergen County, 105 Fairview Ave., Westwood, NJ 07675 or to Dr. H.
