

David A. Forsythe, Jr. born on Jan. 1, 1944 died peacefully on Sept. 8, 2015 in Grafton, MA. David was predeceased by his loving parents, David & Velma Forsythe of Harrington Park. David was raised in Englewood where he attended Dwight Morrow H.S. from 1957-1961 excelling in the intramural athletic programs, including being on the 1961 State Championship basketball team. Following graduation from the Univ. of RI earning a BS in Business Admin., David served in the 24th Admin. Div. of the Army, earning the rank of Specialist Four. During his tour of duty from 1966-1968, David was chosen to play for the 24th Infantry Div. basketball team for a 57-day tournament throughout Germany. Mr. Forsythe was employed in the Exec. Recruitment/HR field throughout his career. Relocating to Cohasset, MA in 1990, David pursued his passion of start-up ventures until he was disabled by a stroke in 2007. Grateful for the excellent care he received from the VA Healthcare System, he devoted much of his time promoting benefits for veterans in need. A treasured brother, David is survived by his sisters, Barbara of Harrington Park and Myra Daw of Ramsey. Mr. Forsythe was a loving and generous uncle to James and Matthew Daw, Jessica Mitchell and Allyson Stickelman. David is also survived by many lifelong friends whom he considered family. A lover of art, music, books, athletics, animals and people, David will be greatly missed and forever remembered. A memorial service will be held on Saturday Oct. 24th at 11am at the Community Church in Harrington Park with the interment to follow in George Washington Mem. Park. An open house will be held at the family’s home following the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Inc. of Yorktown Heights, NY or your local library would be greatly appreciated.
