Douglas Walter Engel

ENGEL, Douglas Walter, on April 21, 2015 of River Vale, age 54. Doug was born on May 22, 1960 in Westwood, NJ. Doug was a talented, self-taught cabinet maker who amazed everyone with his craft. A joy in Doug's life were his prior canine companions, Dupers and Carly. Doug loved nothing more than a winning Rangers, Giants and Mets season.

Beloved brother and brother-in-law of William H. and Maryann. Devoted, loved and cherished uncle of Nicole, Lauren and William Douglas Engel. Doug is also survived by a brother-in-law Richard Wellman and his nieces and nephews Lindsay, Jared, Ryan, Alyssa and Sheralyn. Also surviving is an uncle David Govan of Fort Collins, CO.

Doug is predeceased by his loving parents, Walt and Jeanne, and a sister Debra Wellman(2013). Doug leaves behind many life-long friends whose lives were enriched by him.

Memorial donations in memory of Doug may be made to the Seeing Eye, Inc. 10 Washington Valley Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960. A visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 291 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood on Friday 6-9 pm.
