

Edith Dorothy Klaiss, 97, of Manchester, New Jersey was born October 21, 1925 to George and Anna (Jenson) Bott. She grew up in New Milford, New Jersey and attended Hackensack High School. After graduating from Berkeley School she worked for Kellogg’s in New York City and volunteered in support of WWII.
She married Edward A. Klaiss, Jr. in 1950 and was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She raised her family in Allendale, NJ and supported her children’s interests as a den mother, a Girl Scout leader, and encouraged their musical endeavors. She helped out in the family printing business and supported her husband during his long service in the Lion’s International organization. Her hard work and dedication instilled a great work ethic in her children as well as inspiring those around her.
Edith was active in church, always loved an adventure and was a good friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed traveling extensively with her family. She was a music lover and mastered playing the Lowrey organ. In her spare time, she grew award winning African Violets and was an avid Yankees and NY Giants fan. In her later years, she relished time with her friends and family and proudly lived independently. Her mind, spirit and zest for living remained intact until the end.
She is survived by her son Donald Klaiss (and wife Marguerite) of Hillsborough, California, her daughter Pamela Krizan (and husband William) of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey and son David Klaiss (and wife Andrea) of Park Ridge, New Jersey and her four grandchildren Jason Krizan (and wife Amanda) of Ellicot City, MD, Jenna Krizan of St Louis, MI, Owen Klaiss of Redwood City, CA and Alaina Klaiss of Park Ridge, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward A. Klaiss, Jr. and her loving parents Anna and George P. Bott.
Memorial Service at Becker Funeral home on Monday April 3, 2023 at 10 am, followed by interment in George Washington Cemetery, Paramus NJ.
