Edward T. Murray

MURRAY, Edward T., 88, of Hickory, NC, formerly of River Vale and Montvale, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to John and Anna Murray. Beloved husband of the late Joyce Lynch Murray who passed away in 1992. Devoted father of Maureen Murray. Dear brother of Gail Shapiro. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters; Thomas Murray, Patricia Murray, Alice Ruel, Edna Kelly, Katherine Murray, Rosemary Gnauck, Peter Murray and Conrad Murray.

He was a former parishioner of St. Andrew R.C. Church, Westwood, NJ where he served as head usher for many years. He was a salesman for many years with Armour Meats and after with Goria and Ambrose Grocery in Closter, NJ, later in life he was a private chauffeur.

The family will receive their friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Friday, November 29, 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Edward’s life and faith will be at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Hillsdale, NJ on Saturday, November 30 at 10AM. Interment will follow at Cemetery of the Ascension, Airmont, NY. Memorial gifts may be made in Edward’s name to Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, Garrison, NY.
