

Elizabeth V. Cashin, 64 of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Friday October 24, 2014. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Liz was a long time resident of Hillsdale, NJ. Until her retirement, Liz was a long time employee of the Internal Revenue Service and the US Treasury Department. While with the treasury department, she was a US Diplomat stationed in the US Embassy in Mexico City, Mexico. Liz was a graduate of Stonehill College where she received her bachelor’s degree, then she went to Robert Morris College and received her Master’s degree and was a CPA. She also taught college level accounting courses at night when time permitted. Liz was generous to a fault both within and outside her family. She worked as a volunteer delivering cancer patients to doctor appointments and treatments. She was predeceased by her father, Edward Cashin. Liz is survived by her mother, Eileen (Murray) Cashin; her sister, Donna Rahtelli and her husband Joseph; her brothers, Edward Cashin and his wife Donna and Kevin Cashin and his wife Jacqueline; her nieces, Eileen Stalter and her husband Steven, Kristy Cashin and Michelle Rahtelli; her nephews; Bryan Cashin and his wife Jennifer, Kyle Cashin, and Joseph and Matthew Rahtelli. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday 9:30am to 10:30am at St. John the Baptist Church, 69 Valley St., Hillsdale, NJ with a 10:30am memorial mass. Interment of her cremated remains will follow in Westwood Cemetery, Westwood, NJ. The family asks that donations be forwarded to Russell R. Huntington Jr. Memorial Foundation (a perpetual fund to enrich the lives of children with life threatening illnesses), 25 Dean St., Westwood, NJ 07675 in Liz’s memory.
