Elizabeth Ann Congleton

Elizabeth Ann Congleton, 88, was born on October 19, 1937, in Hackensack, New Jersey, and died on September 25, 2026. A longtime resident of Hillsdale, New Jersey, Elizabeth made her home there for 70 years, building a life marked by steadfast devotion to those she loved and a quiet strength that could always be counted on. She was cherished by her family and friends, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Elizabeth worked in banking as a systems analyst until her retirement, bringing care, precision, and dedication to her work. Beyond her professional life, she traveled extensively, embracing the wider world with an open mind and an appreciative spirit—experiences that reflected her enduring curiosity and her thoughtful way of moving through life.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Fred Congleton and Mae (Heath), and her stepmother, Betty Small; and by her siblings, Jane McCambridge, Fred Congleton and her sister-in-law Joan, and Robert Congleton.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Robert McCambridge. Elizabeth was a beloved aunt of Kevin McCambridge (Toni), Kathy Jennings (Michael), Leslie Congleton (Silas Cook), Sarah Swenson (Kurt), Jim Congleton (Jeanette), and Mark Congleton; and a loving great-aunt to her great nieces and nephew, Kristen, Emily, Nicole, David, Julia, Ann, Michelle, and Pearl; and to her great-great nieces and nephew, Ayla, Leyla, Sawyer, Kiernan, and Evangeline.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 69 Valley Street, Hillsdale, New Jersey 07642, on September 30, 2026, at 10:00 am. Interment is private.
