Emilia "Amy" Forty, 92, of Park Ridge, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026. She is predeceased by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Anthony "Tony" Forty. She was the cherished mother of Beth Parsons (Forty), and Susan Hodgins (Forty) and sons-in-law George Parsons, and the late Andrew Hodgins. Treasured grandmother to Christopher Parsons and wife Melissa, Emily Sivick (Parsons) and husband Jordan, Jonathan Hodgins and wife Samantha, and Matthew Hodgins. She was also a great-grandmother to one-year-old, Meadow Sivick.
Emilia was born and then raised in New Rochelle, NY, to Mary and Gennaro DiPietro and brother, Frank. After High School, she went off to Dean College in Massachusetts to study fashion illustration. Upon graduation, she returned to New Rochelle, commuting into Manhattan by train, to work at the global advertising agency, Young and Rubicam, where she was a busy press secretary. She loved spending her lunch hours strolling and window shopping on Fifth Avenue.
She met her future husband, Anthony, at The Osprey during a summer weekend on the Jersey shore, then moved to Park Ridge in 1962. She left her job in New York to start a family, spending her time decorating her new home, sewing, baking, painting, gardening, volunteering in her daughters' classrooms, and making many friends along the way. As her daughters got older, she worked part-time at Lord & Taylor in Paramus, NJ, in the Home Fashions department for many years.
Upon retirement, she and Anthony spent many years traveling to their favorite destinations, Myrtle Beach and Disney World, visiting her cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Emily in Pennsylvania, and helping with Jonathan and Matthew in Park Ridge. She loved attending the boys' sporting events and Emily's dance recitals.
She truly touched the lives of all who knew her. Inspiring us with her flair for fashion, design, and her determined outlook, she will always be remembered for her kind, creative spirit.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, October 14, in the Chapel at Our Lady of Mercy RC Church in Park Ridge, NJ, from 9:30-10:45 am. A Mass celebrating Emilia will immediately follow in the Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Tenafly, NJ.
